Job Summary:
Under the general direction of a Project Manager, this role will be responsible for supporting Smart City, Meter to Cash, Meter Reading Automation, Metering Operations Improvement, Revenue Enhancement and/or associated initiatives together with Veolia and city experts. This role carries a great deal of responsibility and independence, requiring analytics, communication, project management, client leadership, and problem solving skills to drive impact in a complex and ambiguous client environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 Assist in transformation and performance management initiatives for Meter Reading Automation, Metering Operations Improvement and Revenue Enhancement initiatives
 Support development of work plans, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies
 Develop key performance indicators and project monitoring systems to track project performance
 Build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, vendors and all other resources needed to meet project requirements
 Lead specific initiatives by working hand in hand with utility employees to drive alignment and buy-in, up to and including engaging with client department heads and executives.
 Assist with administration of client contracts to ensure compliance, customer satisfaction, and prompt identification of scope changes
 Prepare accurate, effective, complete and easily understood communications (reports, presentations, etc.)
 Participates and lead client meetings
 Resolve conflicts and problems in a professional manner
 Provide analytical support to project manager
 Must be willing to travel to client site at times

Job Requirements

Education/Experience:
 Bachelor’s degree in government, economics, business administration, public policy, engineering or environmental sciences; an advanced degree or additional course work, certifications and training in these areas is desirable.  

 Five years of demonstrated experience in management or engineering consultancies specializing in utility operations, including customer service operations, metering operations, or asset management; water utilities operations management; or metering and reading automation manufacturer/distributor/installation services.
 Completion of 2 projects, in whole or in part, within the last 5 years in such areas as meter reading automation, Smart City implementation, metering operations improvements, revenue enhancement projects, including meter testing and replacement, asset management, rate and fee adjustments, district metering, or meter to cash

Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
 Knowledge of metering, reading automation and smart devices applications
 Knowledge of meter to cash cycle
 General knowledge of municipal and investor owned utility operations
 Strong problem solving and analytical skills required; must be comfortable manipulating complex data, evaluating complex issues such as large operational and financial datasets, and pragmatic structuring and solving of ambiguous problems
 Ability to facilitate group meetings and workshops effectively
 Demonstrated leadership ability, strategic thinking and ability to effectively manage resources
 Demonstrated client relationship skills, from top-level management to front line employees
 Must possess the ability to develop and deliver an informative and effective presentation to clients at a mid or higher level management.
 Excellent written and verbal communications skills
 Must be comfortable working in a fast pace, ambiguous, and constantly evolving environment
 Ability to synthesize complex topics
 Use of PC skills and software tools to communicate, manage projects, budgets, and resources, streamline work processes and increase operational efficiency.
