Job Description

Reporting to the Procurement Director, the Buyer will be responsible for ensuring the active integration of the Purchasing department in all major project submission and execution procedures. He/She will have to participate in the search and qualification of suppliers while favoring those with Veolia framework agreements. He/She will participate in the analysis of suppliers' offers, in negotiations from the initial request to the firm order including the validation of T+Cs with the aim of obtaining the best prices, deadlines and quality for the supply of equipment and services.

  • Ensure the link between Purchasing, Bidding and Project Management;
  • Participate in bidding and execution kick-off meetings to identify key procurement interventions;
  • Compile a list of preferred suppliers to promote the use of framework agreements by the sales and quotation teams
  • Comparative analysis of offers and purchase recommendations;
  • Search for alternative and economical suppliers;
  • Mastering framework agreements and proposing them during kick off submissions;
  • Participate in the deployment of global framework contracts;
  • Participate in the negotiation of regional framework contracts;
  • Management of VEOLIA Paris Corporate Purchasing requests;
  • Participate in American Purchasing coordination meetings;
  • Compilation of the monthly report and purchasing KPIs;
  • Perform price requests, negotiations, and order generation;
  • Ensure the qualification and evaluation of suppliers;
  • Execute daily follow-up activities;
  • Negotiate commercial and legal contract clauses;
  • Manage complaints to suppliers, deficiencies and non-conformities;
  • Identify and correct the problems raised by the submission and the execution;
  • See to the application of quality standards and procedures (ISO);
  • Formulate recommendations for use in order to improve quality assurance procedures;
  • Convey relevant information to other departments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain or related field preferred;
  • 5 to 10 years in the procurement field and previous experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment is a plus;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French;
  • Active negotiator;
  • Autonomous and responsible with an Analytical mind;
  • You are known to be a team player;
  • Experience with MRP using an integrated ERP system;
  • Proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.).
