HPD, LLC, a Division of Veolia Water Technologies, Inc. is currently seeking an entry level Chemist to work in our Plainfield, IL office.
 
HPD is a global leader in innovative process solutions that uses evaporation and crystallization as core technologies. The successful will candidate will join HPD's 13 person Research and Development group. The research group performs bench and pilot scale tests on a wide variety of unit operations including evaporation, crystallization, membrane treatment, Ion Exchange, settling, filtration and carbon adsorption tests. These tests support process design and development over a wide range of industrial applications.

Job Requirements

As a research Chemist the duties of this position are to include (but are not limited to): Running laboratory glassware experiments and assisting with pilot trials and analysing samples for the R&D department.  The preferred candidate should have basic laboratory skills such as making volumetric dilutions, titrations and maintaining a laboratory notebook. Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation (A.A., ICP, and TOC) and any prior analytical laboratory experience is a plus. The preferred candidate should have a knowledge of Excel and Google Sheets and strong organizational skills.  Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must. Some occasional shift work is required. 
 
A BS in Chemistry is required.  The preferred candidate will have at least 3-5 years of experience, preferably in an engineering environment, and have knowledge of engineering terminology and documentation.
