Job Description

Veolia has an OMM contract (Operate, Maintain and Management) to run an Aqua Metals facility in Reno, Nevada.  The DGM leads the Veolia and Aqua Metals staff which includes over 100 people comprising of (staff, technical, operations and maintenance) including Veolia professionals who have relocated to Reno.
Aqua Metals is a startup, new technology, low emission lead battery recycling facility.  The technology includes active process development, rapid rate scaling, capitalization and optimization.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
●       Provide Safety, Health, and Environmental Leadership
●       Establish, sustain, and improve standard operating systems
●       Champion operational discipline
●       Foster an environment with open communication and feedback
●       Drive high production capability though improvement programs and maintenance best practices
●       Achieve critical Commercialization Plan Objectives
●       Plan, develop, and implement HR initiatives
●       Manage area personnel – provide mentoring and guidance for direct reports, and oversee training and development systems
●       Work with the site employees to manage and improve day-to-day operations
●       Coordinate Supply Chain for effective sourcing, production and shipping schedules
●       Effectively communicate with the Steering Team (senior leaders from Veolia and Aqua Metals).
●       Effectively utilize leveraged resources from company-wide Veolia
●       Manage large contracted resources such as  EPC construction resources
●       Accountable for total site cost and capital expenditures
●       Accountable for being compliant with all corporate systems and processes
●       Promote and support change in response to ongoing business needs

Job Requirements

Minimum requirements (Knowledge, skills, demonstrated abilities):
●       4 year degree in engineering or equivalent
●       Previous Management experience of large person groups
●       15 years of manufacturing experience in a chemical, refining or pharmaceutical industry
●       Energetic approach to plant startup with aggressive timeline requirement
●       Experienced challenging technology and plant startups
●       Strong leadership skills and experience
●       Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
●       Set priorities and provide direction to influence management and the broader organization
●       Deep professional teamwork, collaboration and cross-cultural skills
●       Creation of respectful work environment where everyone contributes to full potential
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
●       Lean/Six Sigma experience
●       End to end supply chain experience
●       Root Cause Investigation
●       Incident Investigation
●       Business software (SAP, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
