Job Description

In context of national and multi-sites organization, envision, develop, and ensure sound administration in the implementation of corporate policies on collective agreements in addition to advising and supporting the management team as to labor relations and labor laws. Acts as the lead person for the Group Benefits and Pension plan files for Canada.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Act as the primary spokesperson for the Company to the negotiating sessions of collective agreements along with the Division Manager, General Manager and Vice-President of Operations;
  • Develop national standards for Contract Negotiations;
  • Develop, implement, and manage the national strategy and processes on labor relations;
  • Advise senior management on labor legislation and any other records relating to labor relations;
  • Assist legal services to protect the interests of Veolia in grievance arbitrations related to the administration of collective agreements or other litigation related to labor relations;
  • Develop strategy and the management of occupational accidents for Canada (WSIB and CNESST) files (repair part) in partnership with the local Health & Safety teams;
  • Manage the complete cycle of Group Benefits and Pension plans for Canada;
  • Develop and manager two (2) HR professionals: 1 Labor Relations Advisor and 1 Benefits Coordinator;
  • Support the Human Resources team for HR projects, when required;
  • Other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Industrial Relations
  • 7 to 10 years in a similar position
  • Extensive experience in collective agreement bargaining
  • Canadian HR or Industrial Relations professional certification

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Typical office environment including heavy reliance in computer usage.  Fast-paced, varied work environment.  Travel up to 50% of the time within Canada (in context of negotiations).
