Job Description

Job Responsibilities:
● Manage Campus-wide Electrical Distribution system. Includes electrical equipment
PMs, repair work, and ongoing capital projects.
● Prepare Medium Voltage Electrical Switching Orders. Act as switching supervisor
directing electricians in the field to conduct Medium Voltage Electrical Switching
Orders for planned work and emergency power restoration.
● Coordinate with contractors to perform electrical testing and maintenance.
● Manage Utility and tenant Emergency Diesel Generators. Including PMs, Generator
exercises, and repair work.
● Manage Utility Power Monitoring system. Schedule corrective actions for
malfunctioning or non-communicating meter. Document monthly tenant electrical
meter readings for billing.
● Active role in electrical and controls troubleshooting with electricians and
instrumentation techs.
● Coordinate with local utility company (Orange & Rockland) for major electrical
equipment outages.
● Remain on call during off hours for any electrical disruptions on the campus.
● Work with outside vendors to implement relay setting as per Coordination/Arc Flash
Study. NFPA 70E Arc Flash
● Schedule Transformer and Esco Loop switch dielectric oil samples. Schedule
corrective actions based on results.
● Operate Electrical Distribution system in an efficient manner, while maintaining
reliability to the customer.
● Manage and submit Department of Energy EIA Reports
● Instrumentation and Control Experience is a plus

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:
● BE/BS Electrical engineering or equivalent experience
● Knowledgeable of Medium Voltage Distribution systems (5,000 - 15,000 Volts)
● Knowledgeable of Low Voltage Distribution (120, 208, 240, 277, 480 volts)
● Knowledgeable of NFPA 70E Arc Flash
