Position Purpose:
As an Engineering Associate with Veolia, you will play a key role in the planning and execution of projects for Veolia’s Water, including sources of supply, treatment plants, pumping stations, water storage tanks, and dams. Reporting to the Manager of Engineering, the Engineering Associate will assist with tasks on various projects from inception to completion, including identification, design, construction, and acceptance. You will work with a variety of departments in Veolia’s municipal water sector, as well as outside consultants and contractors. You will primarily support capital projects and operations for the Hackensack, Franklin Lakes, and Allendale systems located in Bergen and Hudson Counties. Some support will also be needed with projects in the Highlands system (Morris, Passaic and Sussex Counties). This position will potentially work on both water and wastewater systems and infrastructure; however, the majority of responsibilities are in water, including support of Veolia’s dams.

The work environment is typically in an office environment but requires periodic trips to the field to inspect facilities, where the employee will also be occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and an industrial plant environment which may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
