Job Description

Essential responsibilities and duties:

 Manage hazardous and chemical waste programs for clients onsite following the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and other state and federal government agencies regulations

 Execute onsite support services for the entire life-cycle of hazardous materials management programs at client sites by performing chemical inventories, segregating chemicals, and shipping waste off-site

 Characterize, consolidate, pack, and ship hazardous waste for clients per RCRA, DOT, and Veolia guidelines/regulations

 Implement and follow customer SOPs, as well as, make adjustments through customer processes to accurately reflect the process.

 Perform and document environmental health and safety audits for clients in their facilities and laboratories

 Adhere to Veolia and its clients & Health and Safety Practices, as well as, establish a Safety Culture.

 Interaction with client and client subcontractors in a professional manner.

 Tracking and verification of reporting personnel's time.

 Respond to chemical spill emergencies by managing the containment, clean up, and disposal of hazardous materials

 Ability to wear a respirator and other personal protective equipment as needed.

 Proficiency in the use of Windows, Microsoft Office, as well as, Google business platforms

 Overtime and some weekend work is expected as needed.

 Understanding and following oral and written instructions,/procedures

 Establishing work plans and schedules for personnel and subcontractors.

Qualifications

 BS/BA in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, or Safety and Occupational Health preferred, but all majors are welcome to apply. Experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.

 Ability to work as a member of a team as well as an individual

 Leadership experience/potential

 Supervisory experience

 Strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills

 3+ years in the hazardous waste industry characterizing, profiling, containerization of materials, lab packing, shipping, as well as, completing all required regulatory paperwork for shipment and disposal of non-hazardous &hazardous materials & wastes.

Preferred Skills:

 Demonstrated knowledge of RCRA and requirements relating to the identification of waste and generator inspections.

 Completion of 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER

 CPR and First Aid Training

 Commercial Driver’s License

 Experience in a customer service environment
