Job Description

Environmental Specialist  
Full Time, Day-shift, Monday - Friday
Location: Peoria, IL
$18.00 - $20.00/hr.
 
We have a current opportunity for an Environmental Specialist with the ability to grow with the organization.  This position provides hazardous and nonhazardous waste management services to our customers.
 
Responsibilities include manifesting, packaging of materials, spill response, labeling of packages/drums, loading/unloading trucks, coordinating transportation, and sampling/profiling material.
 
Manifest, package and provide spill clean up response, labeling, off loading, loading, and coordinating transportation
Assist in loading/unloading hazardous waste materials at designated sites utilizing appropriate equipment suchs drum dollies, forklift etc ensure transfer of waste in a safe manner
Maintain a professional image to clients
Answer customer inquiries and suggest solutions to existing/potential problems
 
 
Experience with hazardous waste and/or a current CDL is preferred but not required, we will train!
 
We are looking for candidates with a stable work history, strong work ethic, who are eager to learn.
 
Education/Experience:
  • High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related science discipline preferred, but not required (training provided)

 
Certification/Licenses:
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification (training provided)
  • Valid Driver’s License

•         Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License with Hazardous endorsement (training provided)
 
 

Job Requirements

- Bachelor's degree
- Valid Drivers License and ability to obtain a CDL
-Ability to obtain a Class A or B Commercial License CDL with Hazardous endorsement.
