Job Description

Hourly Pay a minimum of $25.00 to a maximum of $29.00

Position Purpose:  
The candidate would be responsible for non-supervisory tasks on hazardous and non-hazardous waste work projects. The position requires daily local travel, overnight stays, and extended work hours.

Primary Duties/responsibilities: 

  • Responsibilities include manifesting, packaging, waste profiling, spill response, decontamination operations, vacuum projects, waste handling, labeling, loading/unloading, coordinating transportation, and sampling/profiling material while adhering to state and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations.

    Qualifications

    Education / Experience / Background: 

    • High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required 
    • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related science discipline preferred 
    • Prior work experience in the hazardous waste/related industry preferred 

    Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: 

    • Strong communication/customer service skills as well as computer skills to track/log all of the materials being transported
    • ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Ability to wear a respirator and other personal protective equipment as needed.
    • Ability to multi task and be self-sufficient.
    • The position requires daily local travel, overnight stays, and extended work hours.

    Required Certification / Licenses / Training: 

    • 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification preferred
    • Class A or B CDL with Hazmat endorsement preferred
