Job Description

The Veolia Red Lion Plant located in New Castle, Delaware is looking for a Maintenance
Manager to provide leadership and guidance to the maintenance team at a $70 million dollar
facility. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the technical aspects of
maintenance operations, processes, and health and safety regulations. The candidate must be
able to effectively manage maintenance operations and administrative tasks such as planning,
budgeting, and reporting. The Maintenance Manager reports to the Plant Manager and leads
an organization consisting of a Maintenance Planner, 2 E&I Technicians, and 8 Maintenance
Red Lion is a key facility within the Veolia North America - Regeneration Services Organization
servicing the refining, chemical, health care, and pharmaceutical industries through
regeneration of spent sulfuric acid steams and production of various grades of sulfuric acid.
Sulfuric acid is a critical component in chemical synthesis and material processing for a wide
array of end use applications.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
 Provide Safety, Health, and Environmental Leadership to the maintenance organization
 Responsible for day-to-day leadership and administration of the maintenance
 Provide mentoring and guidance for direct reports, and oversee their training and
development needs
 Drive maintenance best practices and continuous improvement efforts to achieve
increased efficiency, consistency, and quality
 Responsible and accountable for maintenance spending and cost management including
contract services, maintenance labor, overtime, and maintenance materials
 Responsible for capital budgeting, planning, and execution
 Site Contract Administrator for all contractors, ensuring contractor safety, quality, and
compliance with contract terms and scopes of work
 Coordinate and lead annual shutdowns and bi-annual TAR
 Ensure Operational Discipline so that all maintenance resources execute in a way that
provides for both personnel and process safety, and that quality of repairs is exceptional
 Establish strong communications with Manufacturing Operations that ensures the
highest level of maintenance coordination and support to the operations
 Lead incident investigations related to maintenance events and provide insight as
required on other incident investigations
 Manage sub-contractors as required by plant projects or maintenance needs

 Member of the Red Lion Site Staff Leadership Team responsible for setting the strategic
direction and identifying and implementing key improvements in support of business

Job Requirements

Minimum requirements (Knowledge, skills, abilities):
 4 year degree in engineering or equivalent experience
 Previous Management experience
 Experience working in a High Hazard Process, Process Safety Management facility
 6 years of experience in a chemical, refining or pharmaceutical industry
 Strong leadership skills and experience
 Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
 Demonstrated strong teamwork and collaboration skills
 Demonstrated ability to create a respectful work environment where everyone can
contribute to their full potential
 Strong technical maintenance background

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
 Previous Management experience in a maintenance organization
 Root Cause Investigation and Incident Investigation experience
 Prior experience with continuous improvement and problem-solving methodologies
 Familiarity with the SAP/R3
 Business software (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
 TAR Coordination/leadership experience
 CMRP or CMRT qualification
