Position Purpose:
The Marketing Analyst is part of Veolia North America’s corporate Strategy & Marketing team, reports to the Senior Director, Strategy & Growth and works closely with the corporate Communications team as well as Sales and Marketing Managers within the different business units. As part of a corporate support function, the Marketing Analyst will be working on a wide range of topics spanning VNA’s entire service portfolio - hazardous waste management, municipal and industrial water utility operations, and building energy services - as well as the Strategy & Marketing team’s broad mandate from strategic planning and targeted strategy projects to commercial excellence and digital transformation. More specifically, the Marketing Analyst will gather, compile, review and synthesize market data  and act as a “translator” of market insights to help the business units  determine why, what, and how to sell Veolia’ solutions and services to new and existing customers. In addition, the Marketing Analyst will support project management, help track and analyze commercial performance and sales data, follow VNA-wide marketing campaigns, and conduct ad hoc analysis in support of sales, key account management, and M&A., as well as identify market trends and monitor competitors. Analysts receive mentoring from all levels of the organization and have many opportunities to learn broader business and consulting skills such as large-scale program management, change management, and excellence culture development and implementation.
 
Primary Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to BU sales teams of the different BUs as well as all members of the Strategy & Marketing team(on topics including key account management, development of new activities innovation programs (“seeds”), marketing automation, digital transformation, sustainability, commercial excellence,...) and work very closely with  the Communication team
  • Research, gather and analyze information and data to create actionable market insights 
  • Use tools / techniques such as benchmarks, ride-alongs, interviews (internally with Veolia’s subject matter experts or externally) and site visits in order to gather information on industry’s trends  
  • Collect business intelligence data from industry reports or purchased sources to delimit trends and to measure the impact of competitors’ marketing activities;
  • Monitor trends, competitors marketing activities and outcomes
  • Use intelligence tools to monitor customers, trends, competitors’ moves, and update business intelligence tools and / or methods
  • Compile and analyze information on sales, market trends, forecasts, and accounts;
  • Synthesize information across a variety of sources to drive meaningful insights and make actionable recommendations.
  • Build customer avatars and make recommendations on the most profitable type of marketing campaigns
  • Apply appropriate communication strategies to match client context and audience, determining what to put on paper and what messages to verbalize. 
  • Deliver reports and prepare oral presentations  
  • Conduct efficient and effective analyses to solve complex problems through the use of innovative frameworks. 
  • Perform other duties as required

 

Job Requirements

Education / Experience / Background: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Business, Marketing, Communications or a related field is required.
  • Experience in related industry or market preferred.

 
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Demonstrate ability to quickly understand operational processes and needs
  • Self-starter with strong organization, project management, time management, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Able to communicate complex ideas clearly both in written and verbal formats
  • Experience with marketing campaign functionality in Salesforce 
  • Strong PC skills are essential with high proficiency in MS Office Suite/Google Suite
  • Build excellent working relationships with colleagues at all levels.
  • Successfully works on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Synthesizes and integrates large amounts of data into concise, compelling deliverables.
