Job Description

Job Summary:
Responsible for the maintenance of the Transportation department fleet Over-the Road and local vehicles, Tech. service, and plant motor
operated vehicles (forklifts) to include planning and coordinating inspections, scheduling periodic maintenance, repairing vehicles, and
insuring adequate automotive supplies in stock to handle emergency situations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 Schedule vehicles for periodic inspections to check for on going minor maintenance problems such as oil changes, filter
replacement, tires, etc. and performs required work.
 Schedule and perform major maintenance on vehicles requiring welding and repairing of doors, hoods, roofs, fenders, etc.
according to manufactures specifications to meet safety requirements prior to discharging vehicle back into service.
 Performs tune-ups to insure that quality control issues pertaining to emissions are met to maintain optimum performance of
vehicle.
 Maintain appropriate records on completed work performed on a variety of vehicles and forwards logs along with findings to
immediate supervisor.
 Maintains cleanliness and security of work area to meet appropriate safety requirements and to prevent potential thief of tools and
supplies.

Job Requirements

Education/Experience:
 High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required
 Prior commercial driving experience helpful
Certification/Licenses:
 Valid Class A, B, or C Commercial Driving License (CDL) as required
 40-Hour HAZWOPER training
Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
 Familiarity with U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations pertaining to the maintenance schedule,
record keeping and permit qualifications for DOT permitted vehicles
 Strong team player
 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
 Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple tasks
 Strong customer service orientation
