Veolia Water Technologies Dayton is currently seeking an Operations Manager to work in the Vandalia OH area.

This position is responsible managing the activities of the project management, product development, and assembly departments, focusing on the integration of the product development activities, engineering and project management aspects of all current and future projects to create a timely solution for projects. This is a strategic position that focuses on the overall department strategy, measuring current performance, and utilizing this to develop management plans that integrate into the Company’s strategy and assure profitability.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Provide the overall leadership to the assembly plant manager, project managers, product managers, technology leads, engineers, designers and drafters.

  • Organize with departmental managers and supervisors to insure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner and implement profitable systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries. 

  • Coordinate with plant and department leads to control and minimize labor overtime, under-utilization of labor, and premium freight and repair expenses.

  • Lead the product development, engineering and project management groups in a continuous improvement strategy that is constantly looking at processes and procedures to improve quality (schedule, cost, etc.) to the customer.

  • Continuously interact with the top management at Dayton to develop long term strategies to support the company objectives.

  • Drive strategic development of the overall product development, engineering and project management departments overall growth and future initiatives; including manpower, technical prowess, processes and methods, etc.

  • Work with Engineers and Project Managers to ensure all open projects are being kept on schedule, on budget, and successfully meeting the customer’s expectations.

  • Develop the macro planning and scheduling of all projects and to lead regular cross functional meetings to drive the successful communications required to keep all projects running on time and within budget.

  • Interact with the sales group on current products and projects, as well as the development of strategies for future products and projects.

  • Collaborate with sister BU’s to aid Dayton and Veolia growth.

  • Work with other functional department heads and key managers to help develop methods and procedures for interaction of all in the design and development process.

  • Maintain solid communications and relationships with customers.

  • Coordinate with Human Resources for appropriate staffing levels.

  • Comply with all safety and housekeeping regulations.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or other related field, or equivalent experience

  • Professional Engineer Certification (PE) and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred 

  • Must be proficient in MS Office, MS Project, and MS Excel.

  • Previous experience with JDE and the Google Suite of Programs (mail, slides, docs, and sheets) is preferred.

  • 10 years or more of related work experience.
