 To fully participate in Canada's circular economy, we can count on more than 1500 employees like you! Currently, we are recruiting our next resourcer whose role will be: 
Paint Shop Supervisor located in Sarnia, Ontario.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Oversee safe work practices by verifying personal protective equipment use, confirming all equipment is used appropriately by employees and SOPs are followed
  • Perform regular workplace inspections and participate in safety talks
  • Manage teams on multiple work sites and be responsible for the safe execution of jobs and projects
  • Ensure hazardous situations, near misses, incidents and accidents are reported promptly and ensure all such instances are properly documented and follow up is done
  • Represent all the company in a professional manner with documentation, communication (client calls, requests, complaints, etc.) 
  • Assess future work in conjunction with the client representatives and assist in the preparation of cost estimates
  • Accurately document inspection and testing results and maintain all controlled documentation
  • Coordinate the calibration of all test equipment 
  • Develop training plans, maintain records and oversee training requirements to ensure training needs are met
  • Prepare a weekly work schedule in order to provide direction to personnel on jobs and to ensure all equipment is available for use
  • Oversee personnel matters while working with corporate services (HR, IT, etc) as needed
  • Actively participate in the Joint Health and Safety Committee through participation and follow ups as required 

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years experience in painting and sandblasting including knowledge and experience in both air-assisted airless and HVLP spray systems as well as paints, thinners, epoxy coatings, etc.
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory or lead hand experience 
  • Minimum NACE CIP Level 1 and SSPC Certification
  • Ability to lead a team and contribute to a safe work environment
  • Experience working with a unionized workforce an asset
  • General experience with computer programs (email, word processing, internet applications, spreadsheets)
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Safety Act with emphasis on Lock out Tag Out and Confined Space Entry
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings including piping, ISO and structural steel
  • Team player with positive attitude
  • Project Management experience an asset
  • Experience working in oil and gas environment an asset 
  • Ability to travel to customer sites; valid drivers license
