Position Purpose:  
Responsible for scheduling and overseeing the day-to-day operational and environmental activities at various customer sites throughout the New Jersey Branch.  This position includes managing hazardous & non-hazardous materials, Universal waste, etc.  Coordinates customer's site specific disposal requirements and communicates between service onsite staff at multiple locations for meeting customer’s needs.  Provides regulatory guidance on waste related and non-waste related compliance issues.  Assist customer with record keeping and data entry for multiple reporting requirements.  Assist with maintaining regulatory compliance of customer.

Primary Duties/responsibilities: 

  • Enforce all compliance, health and safety, and environmental procedures in accordance with federal and state regulatory agencies and customers policies.
  • Thorough knowledge of disposal site capabilities and customer limitations prior to shipping hazardous materials for disposal or recycling.
  • Maintain a professional image to clients by answering inquiries and suggesting approve solutions to existing and/or potential problems. 
  • Conduct periodic on-site audits and inspections to ensure compliance the satisfaction of our customer, VES-TS and regulatory agencies.
  • Maintain compliance with training courses according to OSHA, DOT, EPA and VES-TS.
  • Effectively complete projects/assignments in a timely and satisfactory manner and identify the need for additional resources of supplies, manpower, etc. at the client's site.
  • Regular review of contract responsibilities, and if necessary, provides appropriate guidance on improvements or shortcomings.
  • Obtain, update & recertify profiles as needed. Prepare manifests and associated labels/paperwork for materials at various facilities & coordinate with appropriate service group.
  • Assure customer satisfaction through frequent interaction and feedback.

Qualifications

Education / Experience / Background: 

  • BS in Chemistry or BA in related science discipline or equivalent work experience required
  • 3 to 5 years of hazardous waste experience required
  • A valid Driver’s License is required

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: 

  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Extensive knowledge in the following areas: DOT, EPA. TSCA, and OSHA.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Knowledge of disposal capabilities and limitations prior to shipping waste materials to ensure efficient disbursement and storage.
  • Time management, i.e., the ability to organize and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Possess ability to follow through on projects to completion.
  • Ability to create & prepare reports as necessary. ..
  • Complete knowledge and understanding of contract provisions and terms.

Required Certification / Licenses / Training: 

  • 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification
