Our Gulf Coast branch provides services for our customers located in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Texas. Within the Gulf Coast branch, Veolia operates a hazardous waste incinerator in Port Arthur, TX, a service center in Baytown, TX and a service center in College Park, GA. The Gulf Coast branch offers the following services: Lab Chemical Services, On-Site Services, Transportation, Household Hazardous Waste, Reactive Chemicals, Remediation, Training Services, Specialty Services, Drum Management, Incineration, Fuels Blending, Recycling and Radioactive Waste Management.

Job Summary: 
This operator is responsible for the Bulk Solids unloading truck, Prentice and BTI mixer/loaders, operation of Bridge Crane, elevator, shredder and conveyor feed system for the incinerator. Responsibilities include waste tracking recordkeeping, minor maintenance, guiding other operators in off-loading trucks, dumpsters, containers, capacitor shipments, and other materials for shredding. Responsible for loading elevators, shredders and dumping boxes when needed. Duties are performed in accordance with a detailed knowledge of the Standard Division Practices, Health/Safety regulations, permit rules, and other company requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
•Inspects and maintains all parts of the Bulk Feed System including: BTI Loader and hydraulics, Shear shredder and hydraulics, apron feed conveyor, elevator, bridge crane, weigh gate, iso gate, and 504-VH hydraulic system.
•Maintains safety and housekeeping of Bulk Solids System.
•Maintains metal reject box - monitors level and replaces when necessary.
•Maintains drums off bulk solids gates, monitors levels and replaces when necessary.
•Inspects and maintains Fire Suppression System and I.R. /U.V. detectors for Bulk Solids System.
•Responsible for Hot Work, Line Breaking and Confined Space Entry Permit in designated area.
•Completes all necessary paperwork and maintains accurate Bulk Logbook.
•Assists with start-up activities which includes energizing equipment and ensuring all equipment is operational.
•Assists with shutdown activities which includes performing Lockout/Tagout procedures on designated equipment.
•Serves as a subordinate to Lead Mix Operator on all activities in Bulk Solids System consisting of cleanout, decontamination, and repair.
•Serves as relief operator for Lead Mix Operator (pay upgrade when signed off and works job for more than 4 hours if Lead Mix Operator is not at work) and Assistant Mix Operator. 
•Operates forklift.
•Inspects building and cleans up material once per shift.
•Performs duties of lower and upper job functions when necessary and other duties assigned by supervisor.
•Operates backhoe/gradall when needed.
•Assists in shootout operations.
•Removes oversize, discrepant materials from shredder and put in reject box.
•Assists maintenance or I/E in troubleshooting and repairing area equipment.
•Ensures RO boxes, totes, end dumps, etc. are in same condition on departure as arrival. Document any damages.

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Requirements


  • •High School or GED equivalent required
    •Currently trained to level of Hazardous Waste Operator
    •1 year Process Operations preferred
    •1 year Hazardous material handling operations preferred
    •Minimum 6 months heavy equipment operations preferred
