Job Description

The Reliability Engineer will support and lead maintenance and reliability improvement initiatives at various
Veolia strategic sites across North America.

The key objective of these sites is to improve safety, reliability, and plant uptime by applying the most cost
effective maintenance strategies using Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), preventing recurring failures
using Root Cause Analysis, and optimizing other processes related to maintaining these sites.

The successful candidate will be an experienced Maintenance Manager or Reliability Consultant/Engineer, and
will receive the appropriate training in our programs to develop to a Reliability Practitioner level after number of
years of practical experience implementing them.

The successful candidate must be willing to travel (30 – 50%).

This position falls under Veolia’s Technical and Performance Group, Asset Management or Reliability Team,
reporting to the Maintenance and Reliability Director, and will be remote/home based.

Principle Responsibilities
• Facilitates RCM analyses across simple to very complex systems
• Assist with the implementation of maintenance and reliability strategies into Veolia’s corporate
computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
• Assist with identification and application of maintenance and reliability best practices
• Develop a working understanding of predictive technologies, vibration analysis, ultrasonic analysis,
thermography, PdMA, oil analysis, corrosion detection, dissolved gas analysis, etc.
• Develop asset registers and hierarchies
• Conduct equipment condition assessments
• Complete equipment criticality analyses
• Conduct root cause failure analyses (Cause Mapping)
• Develop critical spare parts strategies
• Assist with implementing computerized maintenance management systems

Job Requirements

Successful candidate must have a Bachelor Engineering degree and/or experience as a Maintenance Manager or
Supervisor, or as a Reliability Engineer, and demonstrate the following:
• Communication - listens and interprets well, speaks and writes effectively, reads and comprehends drawings,
graphs and charts
• Comfortable communicating at all levels of the orgnization
• Thinks systematically/methodically - thinks in logical manner to evaluate situations, solve problems and make
decisions. Pays attention to detail
• Computer literate - possesses good computer skills, i.e. MS Word,MS Excel, Google Docs, Google Sheets etc.
• Willing to learn and be coached - wants to become a Reliability Practitioner
• Has a positive attitude towards change and unknown areas of expertise
• Working within a team culture
