Job Description

The Reliability Engineer position will provide support to the Maintenance and Reliability Director/Manager to implement maintenance and reliability initiatives at various Veolia strategic sites across North America.

The key objective of these sites is to improve safety, reliability and uptime by applying the most cost effective maintenance strategies using a process called Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM). The successful candidate will receive RCM training up to a facilitator level and thereafter will participate in our program to develop the candidate to a Reliability Practitioner level after number of years of practical experience.

This position falls under Veolia’s Technical and Performance Group, Asset Management or Reliability Team.

Principle Responsibilities 
•Facilitates RCM analyses across simple to very complex systems
•Determine probability of failures and multiple failures, calculating required frequency of functional checks in order to meet tolerable levels of risk 
•Assist with the implementation of maintenance and reliability strategies into Veolia’s corporate computerized maintenance management system OWAM or Maximo. 
•Assist with application of maintenance and reliability best practices
•Develop a working understanding of predictive technologies, vibration analysis, ultra-sonics, thermography, PdMA, oil analysis, corrosion detection, dissolved gas analysis, etc.
•Develop asset hierarchies *
•Conduct equipment condition assessments *
•Define equipment criticality *
•Conduct root cause failure analyses *
•Develop critical spare parts strategies *
•Assist with implementing computerized maintenance management systems *

Job Requirements

Successful candidate must have a B engineering degree and demonstrate the following:
•Communication - listens and interprets well, speaks and writes effectively, reads and comprehends drawings, graphs and charts
•Thinks systematically - thinks in logical manner to evaluate situations, solve problems and make decisions. Pays attention to detail
•Computer literate - possesses good computer skills, ie. Word, Excel etc.
•Willing to learn and be coached - wants to become a Reliability Practitioner,
•Has a positive attitude towards change and unknown areas of expertise
