Job Description

The Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for development of reports and visualizations supporting Veolia’s internal and external business partners. The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for data discovery, ad hoc analysis and building analytic models. Key to this role is enterprise BI design and collaboration with the Data Team to ensure design is repeatable and maintainable across a large organization. Sr. BI Analyst will be responsible to build Semantic layer for report performance as well as assist with reporting technical standards. 
Responsibilities:
  • Lead BI development efforts in the implementation and use of BI software tools and systems, including Tableau, Tidemark, Looker and other tools sets 
  • Design, code, test, and document new or modified BI systems, applications, and programs
  • BI Analyst will be a key contributor providing analytical support, data, recommendations and analysis to our business stakeholders
  • Develop in-depth understanding of underlying data, data structures, KPIs, and business uses of data to provide clear data visualizations and analysis
  • Drive consistency in reporting and analysis across the company
  • Develop the semantic layer, metadata, and report definitions
  • Participate in the tracking and resolution of report/data quality issues
  • Design and deliver end-user training and training materials; provide technical support as necessary
  • Troubleshoot BI tools, systems, and software; performance-tune these applications as necessary
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to provide continual improvement in business intelligence & systems landscape at the company
  • Establish and maintain a strong working relationship with our key business leaders to support them with any data, dashboards, or reporting needs they have
  • Collaborate well with data team to understand and leverage the underlying data and table structures in the reporting systems
  • Proactively participate in requirements sessions and prototyping sessions with the business users


Job Requirements

Technical Requirements: 
  • Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Looker or other industry leading BI tools 
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative field
  • Certified Tableau Desktop Professional or Looker a Plus
  • Demonstrate ability to scale visualizations and data at an Enterprise level
  • Data modeling concepts for self-service
  • 6 + years of working experience in reporting and analysis
  • Knowledge of financial and data reporting principles
  • Experience in reporting techniques such as Drill-Through, Cross-Tabs, Summary Reports, Scheduled Reports, On-demand reports
  • Intermediate to expert knowledge and experience in SQL 
  • Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and practices 
  • Experience with JavaScript, HTML5 and/or JQuery 
  • Waterfall and Agile Methodology Experience
