Senior Financial Analyst located in Toronto, Ontario for a 1 year contract.

  • Drive month-end close process and carry out closing duties for two FuelCo manufacturing
  • plants
  • Analyze financial statements and draft variance analysis for operations & senior management
  • Analyze inventory, AR, revenue and COGS accounts transactions, and reconcile the transactions
  • with minimal instruction and supervision
  • Monitor and track key balance sheet and P&L account (inventory, unbilled, pre-paid, expense
  • accrual etc.)
  • Work closely and develop relationship with AP, Operations Fiber Controller and operations
  • Prepare financial material for quarterly board meetings
  • Update Tidemark for budgeting and forecasting
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting process
  • Special analysis/projects as required
  • Assist in the year end auditing
  • Support operations with ad-hock projects/tasks
  • Minor travel as needed

Job Requirements

  • Education: Accounting major, Bachelor's
  • Accounting experience: 3 years manufacturing industry accounting preferred
  • Excel skills: experienced user, know how to use the most common formulas at the minimum
  • Detail oriented
  • 3 years of extensive experience with MS Excel
  • Comfortable working with Excel sheets and dealing with large number of data
  • Manufacturing inventory accounting experience, know how it works to track, value, and reconcile
  • Good technical background and experience with cost accounting and particularly inventory costing
  • Up to date with IFRS and ASPE
  • CPA or CPA candidate (late stage of completing the PEP) an asset
  • IFRS inventory valuation method and non-monetary transaction knowledge an asset
  • Financial modeling skills an asset
  • Biomass or forestry industry accounting experience an asset
