Position Purpose:
This position is responsible for the management of the Pennsylvania Utility operations and oversees the Pennsylvania Production and Field Operations. Responsible for managing all aspects of the operations in the Pennsylvania Utility Operation as it relates to compliance, health and safety operational efficiency and service to customers. Assists the Mid-Atlantic General Manager in establishing annual goals and objectives in areas of compliance, health and safety, customer service, and profit and loss. Also assists the Mid-Atlantic General Manager with special projects to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness within the Division.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Leads the Veolia Pennsylvania team in providing customers with safe, reliable and adequate service in the most cost-effective way.
- Leads the Company operations to ensure compliance with all government rules, regulations, and requirements (including water quality, environmental health and safety, service, permits, etc.) and all Company policies and procedures.
- Leads by example in all areas of Company ethics.
- Supports the Utility Squads by promoting employee participation on Core teams and User Communities.
- Participates as operational lead in the preparation and execution of annual operating and capital plans.
- Directs the operational Superintendents to ensure the attainment of service, financial goals, and major program efforts.
- Ensures the training and development of employees to equip them to perform their assigned duties efficiently and effectively.
- Partner and support HR in recruiting, hiring, and all labor relations matters.
- Responsible for ensuring compliance to Company’s SOPs.
- Promotes tuck-in acquisitions via conducting due diligence, negotiating APAs and process for new business ventures. Includes operations and workforce plans.
- Serves on 24-hour emergency call-out duty.
Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background:
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, accounting, or business administration or other management required.
- 7 – 10 years of water utility experience with at least three years’ experience in a managerial role.
- Experience in a unionized work environment preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge and experience in various areas of utility operations including production, water treatment and quality, distribution system, construction, engineering and utility.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to make sound decisions.
- Ability to cast local strategic vision in alignment with Veolia vision.
- Good knowledge of accounting and finance ability to promote and achieve Company financial goals.
- Ability to support Company core values.
- Ability to manage change effectively to achieve desired results.
