Job Description

Stationary Engineer (Chilled Water Plant)
Scope & Responsibilities:
In Atlanta, Veolia Energy provides chilled water to Atlantic Station, an innovative, 140-acre mixed-use development located in Atlanta's Midtown area.  Over the next 15 years, Veolia Energy will expand the central chilled water system as additional buildings are constructed.
•        Support the operation and maintenance of the chilled water plant, including the use of contractors and subcontractors
•        Support the installation of new equipment and systems
•        Support the repairs and overhauls of chilled water plant
•        Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies
•        Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
•        Maintains safe working conditions: identifies and corrects or reports unsafe conditions in work area.
•        If required, will stand watch as Lead Control Operator, Control Operator, or Auxiliary Operator
•        During backshifts, weekends, and holidays, may act as the primary representative for contact with customers and the public requiring accurate logging of complaints and resolution of the problems or passing of the information on to the appropriate supervisor
Note:  The job can be physically demanding involving movement of heavy equipment and carrying materials up and down stairs. Candidates should be able to lift a 50-lb load.

Job Requirements

•        4 – 7 years’ experience operating stationary or marine boilers
•        Thorough understanding of the principles and regulatory requirements for overseeing operations involving water management quality, outfall controls, fuel systems, asbestos controls, and metering
•        Must hold a valid driver license with a satisfactory driving record to maintain minimum company required insurance coverage
•        Ability to tolerate confined spaces, tolerate heights, lift heavy equipment and carry materials up and down stairs with the capacity of lifting 50 pounds
•        Ability to work rotating shifts involving weekends, holidays, backshifts, and overtime as required
•        Valid GA Grade II or higher plant operator license
•        Self motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
