Job Description

§  Maintains safe working conditions: identifies and corrects or reports unsafe conditions in work area.
§  Performs assigned duties in accordance with all published Company operating and safety policies.
§  Stands watch as Lead Control Operator, Control Operator, or Auxiliary Operator, as assigned, and oversees assigned personnel, if any, and equipment.
§  Operates chillers, controls, and ancillary equipment.
§  Ability to recognize, report, mitigate or correct equipment and system anomalies.
§  Takes effective action to reduce the effect of equipment casualties.
§  Writes work orders for identification and repair of plant equipment.
§  Complete scheduled maintenance tasks and minor system equipment repairs at customer site and comfort cooling equipment stations
§  Complete assigned repair or corrective action plans to system and comfort cooling stations.
§  Maintains required records of operations in a clear and precise manner.
§  May act as the primary representative for contact with customers and the public requiring accurate logging of complaints and resolution of the problems or passing of the information on to the appropriate supervisor immediately.
§  Oversees completion of all prescribed records and logs at assigned plants.
§  Ensure compliance with all published regulatory authority requirements such as EPA, OSHA and state and local government
§  Ensures compliance with environmental regulations.
§  Performs other duties as assigned by Operations management.
§  Assist in various duties to support a 24/7 hour utility operation

Job Requirements

§  Maryland First Class Stationary Engineer's License.
§  Minimum 5 years’ experience in the maintenance and operation of centrifugal chillers, pumping systems and cooling towers.  Additional experience necessary with pneumatic and direct digital control (DDC) systems, air compressor systems, water treatment procedures, electrical systems and their components
§  Effective understanding of the principles and regulatory requirements for overseeing operations involving water management quality, outfall controls, fuel systems, asbestos controls, and metering.
§  EPA – CFC Technician Certification – Universal or Type II and Type III minimum.
§  Demonstrated maturity, reliability, and judgement to stand watch as a Control Operator.
§  Ability to communicate orally and in writing concerning routine paperwork.
§  Ability to climb and tolerate heights up to 100 feet and to tolerate confined spaces.
§  Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
§  Valid driver's license and insurable by Company's vehicle insurance carrier.
§  Admit to Company required alcohol and drug screening program
§  Ability to work shifts involving weekends, holidays, and overtime maybe required to meet production requirements.
