Job Description

Reporting to the President of the Northeast Region, the Vice President of Operations will be responsible for working with assigned Project Managers to provide quality water and wastewater services to Veolia’s clients under long-term service contracts and growing the business in his/her assigned area of the Northeast Region

This position requires the exercise of a considerable knowledge of operations, budgeting and financial statements, policies and laws as well as participating in the formulation of top-level policies and decisions. It Requires interaction with external agencies, clients, municipal leaders, and other groups to ensure the health and growth of the Region. The successful candidate must be able to manage and participate in the preparation and administration of strategic plans, systems plans, capital plans, and operating plans as well as revise plans as they relate to their assigned projects. The position will provide professional handling and resolution of client services concerns, contract interpretation and modification and/or renewal activities

Project delivery must be accomplished profitability, fully compliant with Veolia’s contractual responsibilities, safety and environmental compliance goals using the full resources of the company to achieve superior customer service, client/customer loyalty and building long-term relationships. He/She will coordinate and leverage the efforts of Veolia’s support functions – Technical Services, Finance & Due Diligence, Legal, Human Resources, and Operations Management. 

Qualifications

Education/Equivalent:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related science or business related field preferred

Work Experience Needed:

  • Minimum 7-10 years experience of progressive supervisory and management experience in operations or engineering ,  preferably in the water / wastewater industry or  in a related business or technical field.

Special Skills/Abilities Needed:

  • Excellent skills in leadership, team building, internal & external communications, change management, and training and mentoring of project managers and supervisors.
  • Developed strategic and business planning and financial management skills
  • Demonstrated skills in problem solving and solutions
  • Must demonstrate a high degree of initiative, judgment and resourcefulness with the ability to find creative solutions and options to multi-faceted and/or time sensitive problems, to deal with numerous and changing priorities and to proactively address issues relating to personnel, capital, margin enhancement, facilities, processes and profitability of assigned area. 
  • Demonstrates commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills.
