Job Description

Veolia is seeking a full-time intern that is interested in pursuing a career in the water and/or wastewater treatment industry. The position will start as a full-time, temporary role for a six month period with the ability to transition into full-time, permanent employment with Veolia at the end of the internship. This intern will have a unique opportunity to learn from some of the most talented and knowledgeable operators in this industry.
 
Job Duties
The intern will be trained on fundamentals of water and/or wastewater treatment, laboratory analysis, and plant operations and maintenance. They will assist the operators on normal operational rounds and procedures, as well assisting lab and office personnel as requested.

• Assists with duties of Operators as needed. 
• Assures work is performed in a safe and professional manner by following established safety, operating, and emergency response procedures. 
• Assists with cleanup and housekeeping tasks for work area and equipment. 
• Assists with duties of Laboratory Technicians as needed, and assists with computer input. 

Job Requirements

     
    Requirements: 

    • Must have high school diploma or GED by July 2019 
    • Ability to work in various positions which require standing (80%), walking (10%), sitting (5%), and bending (5%). 
    • Body movements require working with hands extended in front of body 18 inches (60%). 
    • Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds. 
    • Must be able to pass a physical, drug screen, and criminal background check 
    • Requires well-developed reading, math, writing, scientific, and verbal communications skills. 
    • Strong mechanical aptitude. 
    • Requires the ability to carry out verbal and written instructions. 
    • Requires ability to plan, organize, train, and functionally supervise subordinates. 
    • Must have the ability to establish effective working relationships with other employees
