Based in Boston, MA, Veolia North America is the leading provider of environmental services, including in the areas of non-hazardous and hazardous waste treatment, municipal water and wastewater operations, and industrial water treatment and resource recycling. The company employs more than 7,500 North American personnel delivering sustainable environmental solutions.

Scope & Responsibilities:
Corporate Counsel will represent the legal function as part of a team responsible for the full suite of Veolia’s environmental service offerings in the United States. The preferred candidate will have a background in one or more of the following disciplines:M&A, joint ventures and project finance, or environmental law. Strong generalist candidates are also encouraged to apply. Duties may extend to complex contract negotiations and drafting, due diligence, and the provision of general advice regarding governance and legal compliance.

Profil Requi

Required Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
• Juris Doctor Degree from a nationally recognized law school
• Licensed to practice law and a state bar member in good standing
• 5 - 8 years in a major law firm, preferably with substantive transactional experience
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills as well as a proven ability to negotiate and draft documentation for sophisticated commercial transactions, notably including complex service and outsourcing contracts
• Adept at working with minimal supervision on multiple time-sensitive projects and dealing directly with business developers, senior management and finance, accounting and tax professionals
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to interface with people at all levels by virtue of professional competence, personal integrity, and personal style

Preferred Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
• Admission to practice law in Massachusetts
• Solid background in environmental law and regulation
