SUMMARY
1. Oversees biosolids preparation for land application or other disposal methods.
2. Coordinate the utilization of biosolids through effective scheduling, hauling and land application while supervising Biosolids staff by Veolia’s Basic Leadership Principles.
3. Responsible for optimizing staff utilization in Biosolids, purchasing safety supplies for employees, purchasing tools and materials needed to maintain smooth operations, approving time sheets and completing annual Performance Reviews for the Biosolids Team.
4. Operate dewatering equipment as needed to maintain program needs. Complete commitment to supporting the site safety programs.
5. Inspect and monitor leased farm acres and application sites.
6. Schedule and collect Biosolids samples for laboratory testing per the Biosolids Management Plan.
7. Ensure adequate and permitted sites are always available to meet the biosolids disposal goals.
8. Maintain necessary reporting trends and graphs as requested by the O & M Manager.
9. Prepare reports, keep records, maintain electronic files and optimize data management practices.
10. Responsible for writing and updating and training employees on associated SOP and JSA documents.
11. Oversee, schedule and perform administrative duties as required to ensure vehicle maintenance is appropriate and consistent while managing the department $ 2 million budget.
12. Develop and recommend efficient and cost effective program improvements.
13. Participates in professional organizations associated with the Biosolids Program management, operations and regulatory perspective.
14. Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision.
15. Supervise a staff of 3 and 2 Subcontractors.

Profil Requi

● Degree in Agronomy or similar field required. Ability to read, write and comprehend English (operational, process, safety and quality instructions) and be able to carry out verbal and written instructions.
● Ability to learn how to operate heavy equipment (sludge loader), dewatering equipment, and knowledge of typical vehicle maintenance practices.
● Two or more years experience in a related position in a similar environment with ability to comprehend complex specifications, permits and O&M manuals. ● Experience negotiating with contractors regarding scope and cost of work.
● Experience in the care and use of all site specific, facility required PPE, including respirators, gas detectors, confined space equipment, etc.) Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
● Ability to perform moderately complex mathematical calculations.
● Must demonstrate proficiency and leadership in associated safety programs.
● Knowledge land application site requirements; basic farming and cropping practices principles and practices of contracting and contract administration; principles and practices of budget preparation and control.
● Understanding of pertinent Federal, State and local laws, codes and regulations associated with Biosolids Management.
● Ability to evaluate program costs, interpreting and evaluating plans and specifications for application sites; use of computers and computer software to include Word and Excel.
● Ability to understand pertinent policies, procedures, laws, regulations and permits with experience negotiating site authorization specifics with DEQ.
● Establish and maintain positive working relationships with the City, DEQ, professional organizations, cooperators, the general public and facility personnel. ● Adherence to Veolia qualities of genuine leadership to include; Collaborative, Inventive, Skilled, Visionary and Mindful.

● Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily. Required Certification / Licenses / Training
● Some vocational training and mechanical aptitude required, with the ability to read, interpret and record data from meters, gauges, scales, panels, computer consoles and other equipment.
● Bachelor's degree in agronomy (highly desired, but not required) or 2 year degree in equivalent areas of study (environmental science, agriculture etc.)
● Must have Class II wastewater certification or ability to pass and obtain a class II wastewater certificate within 24 months.
