This position is critical to ensure wastewater meets the contractual and regulatory requirements for discharge to local waterways and ultimately Lake Michigan 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. To meet this goal requires a number of trades, operators and managers working as a coordinated team to maintain the system. This position is one of those required for this team. 

Under supervision, isolate and change operating machinery to meet maintenance requirements. Assure operation of Central Control components in absence of Operating Engineer IV. Maintain inventory related to Power House operations within a wastewater treatment plant setting. Under supervision, sources of authority are verbal instructions and operating manuals within the specifications of standard practices.

Is required to accurately maintain and update records, documents, and manuals including electronic media. Must provide current, timely, accurate, and complete data, for all work assigned. Is required to follow current company/department policy and procedures, is required to fully participate in improvement initiatives, including but not limited to: job plans, workflows, job safety analysis, standard maintenance procedures, preventative maintenance improvement initiatives, efficiency activities, use of technology based solutions, condition assessments and reliability initiatives.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES / JOB DUTIES
Required to follow all applicable safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures in performance of assigned duties. Is required to participate in all required safety training activities. Is expected to report any unsafe conditions encountered in performance of duties.
Assist Operating Engineer IV as required.
Operate communications center: handle incoming and outgoing mobile communications, answer and channel incoming plant calls.
Operate and adjust as required gas turbines, boilers, pumps and fuel gas compressors and auxiliary Power Plant equipment throughout Jones Island as needed.
Make manual adjustments on Power Plant equipment to maintain proper operating levels; collect and run boiler analysis on Fired and Waste Heat Boilers.
Perform minor maintenance as assigned.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area and security of CCR operating area.
Maintain inventory on boiler chemicals, reagents and process chemicals.
Make out store requisitions and obtain supplies.
Assist in training of personnel, record employee notification of illness and notify proper authority.
Maintain maintenance log of daily readings as needed.
Make appropriate changes using the computer system and visually inspecting the related equipment.
Performs other duties of a similar level and nature as assigned.
Relief Responsibilities: Operating Engineer IV (until Operating Engineer IV replacement can be made).

Profil Requi

Educational Background
High school graduate or equivalent

Job Skills/Characteristics
Sufficient skills in reading, writing, and basic mathematics to perform duties of job
Ability to understand technical material, charts and gauges; 
Ability to properly identify and use basic hand and power tools.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Ability to properly identify and use standard mechanic hand tools and precision measuring instruments. 
Ability to enter data
Basic skills in computers and data input devices, email, application and office software. 
Valid Wisconsin driver’s license.
Communicates effectively via written and oral methods with co-workers, supervisors, managers, and others when necessary.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job 

Experience/Knowledge
Three years experience operating Power House equipment
ASOPE First Class Operating Engineer License required

Work Hours: Work is performed on rotating schedule as set up for Powerhouse Operations.  Subject to overtime, recall, call in and on call
