Veolia (Environmental Services Solutions) Managing the multiple challenges of hazardous waste to satisfy safety, environmental and regulatory directives require an experienced partner with a proven record in all three areas. From onsite pick-up to final treatment or disposal, Veolia North America assures safety, environmental responsibility and regulatory compliance by channeling hazardous waste through our network of over 450 company-owned or certified service centers nationwide. These service centers include treatment, recovery and disposal facilities, sales offices and transportation locations.

Job Summary:
Responsible for supervising and scheduling day-to-day operations within the facility area to include trouble shooting, health, safety, and environmental compliance issues and policies, quality assurance/control, provide technical expertise on operational modifications, hiring and training of subordinates, etc.  Assists immediate supervisor in the annual preparation of goals versus forecasted budgeted allowances as well as conducting special exploratory assignments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure all compliance, health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with departmental and regional requirements.

Thorough knowledge of site capabilities and limitations prior to treatment and/or shipping hazardous waste materials to insure efficient disbursement and storage.

Oversee accuracy of EPA regulations required in submitting appropriate paperwork to expedite waste materials.

  Implement all mandatory training courses as required by OSHA, as well as update refresher courses instituted by Veolia. 

 Oversee operation of all maintenance and equipment in a professional manner to insure optimum utilization to complete project(s) in a timely manner.

Assist with the training of lower level personnel to insure appropriate performance standards within the various functional areas of the site

Maintain a professional image to clients by answering inquiries and suggesting alternative solutions to existing and/or potential problems

Assist immediate supervisor in preparing annual budgets to include manpower, equipment, supplies, etc.

Job Requirements

•         BS in Chemistry or related science discipline
•         4 - 6 years of hazardous waste experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
•         Extensive knowledge in the following areas: DOTR, EAP, TSCA, and OSHA
