Veolia Water Technologies, Inc. Dayton is currently seeking a Compliance and Safety Manager to work in the Philadelphia/Morrisville Pennsylvania area.

This position is responsible for managing a laboratory and will also be responsible for all environmental and safety compliance. A successful candidate must possess laboratory testing knowledge, as well as have experience in Safety and Environmental Management.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Management of on-site laboratory that includes management of up to 1 lab tech,  ordering of reagents, and verifying that equipment is performing as designed
  • Determine the appropriate laboratory analytical methods for any given wastewater contaminant that Veolia and WM want to be monitored / tested by the site
  • Interpret analytical results
  • Assist in determining process parameters based on analytical results
  • Optimize laboratory analysis plans
  • Quality control of lab analysis
  • Provide laboratory analysis quality plan and procedures
  • Ensure analytical data is collected and documented accurately
  • Communications and scheduling with contracted laboratories
  • Ensure all applicable health and safety policies are followed
  • Lead and Conduct weekly safety meetings
  • Conduct Safety audits
  • Conduct Health and Safety Training
  • Complete accident investigation and complete all required forms as required.
  • Communication with client of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
  • Perform data collection and update spreadsheets and graphs of KPI’s
  • Utilize laboratory test results (internal and external), evaluate data for potential errors and recommend a course of action to address any compliance issues
  • Utilize analytical skills to recommend process changes in the plant.
  • Work in partnership with the Operations Manager and the Maintenance Manager to develop plans and to execute them.
  • Manage site environmental permits for wastewater 
  • Coordinate waste shipments
  • Conduct and / or organize any necessary environmental training of personnel 
  • Lead Contractor Safety program and ensure contractor compliance
  • Focus on daily housekeeping standards for site
  • Ensure that the Safety of all employees is the #1 priority 
  • Utilize authority to address safety issues and if necessary, write up and / or remove personnel from site for safety violations.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science or a (4) year degree with (3) years experience in a laboratory setting, water management or environmental engineering.
  • Must be proficient with MS Office and Google software programs
  • 2 - 5 years of related work experience.
