Engineering Intern/Co-op

The Co-op Engineer position provides an opportunity for engineering students who are currently pursuing an engineering degree to get hands on experience working with District Energy: end-to-end solutions combining heating and cooling systems or Energy Utilities: manage customers' steam production, cooling, compressed air, vacuum, cogeneration and power networks.

As a co-op engineer you will be called upon to support a variety of engineering activities and will specifically conduct inventory of all Boston and Cambridge customer steam distribution assets (underground and in manholes) and provide data entry into data distribution system.

Note: The job can be physically demanding involving movement of heavy equipment and carrying materials up and down stairs, climbing in and out of confined spaces including manholes. Candidates should be able to lift and maneuver a 50-lb load.

Job Requirements

Must have the following qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelors program at least to the sophomore level at an accredited 4 year university in an engineering discipline
• Working knowledge of ArcView, a GIS (Geographic Information System)
• AutoCAD knowledge preferred
• 3.2 GPA or higher strongly desired
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent teamwork skills
• Self-starter
• Willing and able to quickly learn new applications and technologies
