Job Description

Collection of recyclables, trash, hazardous waste, scrap metal and other waste streams throughout the plant and transports to disposal container or storage room and manage drum pad(s) as required.

8:00am - 4:30 pm
1:30pm - 10:pm
10:00Pm - 6:30am

These shifts are subject to change and may require shift flexibility.

Collects plant trash, recyclables and hazardous waste from various locations throughout the plant.

• Transports waste/recyclables from the plant floor to disposal container and/or storage room

• Loads semi-trailers and roll-off boxes for shipment to landfill, recycling center.

• Maintains plant’s drum pad or 90-day storage room in accordance to federal regulations.

• If applicable, provides copies of shipping paperwork to manager.

• Documents and informs manager of any contamination in plant’s recycling containers.

• If applicable, completes daily route sheets.

• Breakdown of scrap parts for repair or recycling (certain assembly plants only).

• Operates mobile equipment (fork-truck, tugger, cart, walkie).

• Performs preventive maintenance (PM) and safety checks on mobile equipment.

• Follows all plant-related safety guidelines.

• Responsible for his/her own safety and work quality while on the job.

• Any indicated site-specific responsibilities.

Job Requirements

Must have a Valid Drivers License

The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job

• Able to pass basic medical exam.
• Able to stand, kneel, and bend for long periods of time.
• Able to climb ladders and stairs without difficulty.
• Must have manual dexterity sufficient for use of small hand tools, handling of small parts.
• No medical condition or impairment that would place the employee at increased risk in the event of accidental exposure to chemical agents.
• Able to lift equipment weighing up to 75 lbs. with assistance.
• Drug free.
• Lifting, carrying and pulling equipment of various size, shape, and weight.
• Climbing, standing, and working in awkward positions.
• Work will be performed in assembly plants, metal fabrication plants, powertrain plants
• Hot and cold weather
• Noisy environments.
