Our Gulf Coast branch provides services for our customers located in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Texas. Within the Gulf Coast branch, Veolia operates a hazardous waste incinerator in Port Arthur, TX, a service center in Baytown, TX and a service center in College Park, GA. The Gulf Coast branch offers the following services: Lab Chemical Services, On-Site Services, Transportation, Household Hazardous Waste, Reactive Chemicals, Remediation, Training Services, Specialty Services, Drum Management, Incineration, Fuels Blending, Recycling and Radioactive Waste Management.

Job Summary:
This position provides specialized transportation and disposal services to our clients. Responsibilities include manifesting, packaging, spill response, labeling, loading/unloading, coordinating transportation, and sampling/profiling material while adhering to state and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Sample waste streams according to prescribed policies and procedures.
• Manifesting, packaging, spill clean-up response and remedial activities, labeling, loading, off loading, and coordinating transportation.
• Maintain a professional image to clients by answering inquiries and suggesting solutions to existing/potential problems.
• Comply and enforce all compliance, health, safety, and procedures in accordance with Veolia policies.
• Performs spill cleanup as well as participate in remediation projects in and out of the work area.
• Have the ability to support other operations when there’s a need.
• Become familiar with all U. S. Department of Transportation (DOT)/Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Veolia regulations required in submitting paper work to expedite disposal of hazardous waste.
• Moves material within the facility using appropriate equipment such as hand trucks, pallet trucks, forklifts, golf cart etc. Must also be able to do some heavy lifting (up to 70lbs).
• Performs general house cleaning duties and maintains a clean, organized and safe work area. Complies with all prescribed safety procedures and regulations. Report all incidents and accidents. Works safely and wears the appropriate PPE for task.
• Must be able to work shift work


Job Requirements

Education/Experience:
• High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related science discipline preferred

Certification/Licenses:
• 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification
• Valid Drivers License
