Our Gulf Coast branch provides services for our customers located in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Texas. Within the Gulf Coast branch, Veolia operates a hazardous waste incinerator in Port Arthur, TX, a service center in Baytown, TX and a service center in College Park, GA. The Gulf Coast branch offers the following services: Lab Chemical Services, On-Site Services, Transportation, Household Hazardous Waste, Reactive Chemicals, Remediation, Training Services, Specialty Services, Drum Management, Incineration, Fuels Blending, Recycling and Radioactive Waste Management.

Job Summary:
Responsible for functioning in a technical support role to both the Customer and sales team by providing knowledgeable expertise in chemical grouping, a variety of disposal options, approvals, RCRA, DOT regulations and compliance. Responsible for maintaining all bulk waste profiles. Responsible for scheduling waste disposal slots and maintain waste approvals with Waste Disposal and End User Facilities. Creates all shipping documents for bulk waste shipments and recyclables, creates work orders and review billing documents. This role will also serve as mentor/trainer for the material handlers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Ensure load and manifest discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner and in compliance with all state, federal requirements.
• Provide daily movement and inventory reports for waste preparation prior to routing to appropriate personnel and/or ultimate disposal locations.
• Responsible for maintaining all bulk waste profiles.
• Responsible for scheduling waste disposal slots and maintain waste approvals with Waste Disposal and End User.
• Interact with operations and billing to ensure all receipts are entered and accurate.
• Assists in maintaining work schedules for the workforce and advises manager when questions arise.
• Contacts customers on an as-needed basis regarding specific job related requirements, obtaining additional information, and job satisfaction and quality.
• Tracks profitability and provides background information for future forecasting to include value, profiles, and associated costs.
• Creates all shipping documents for bulk waste shipments and recyclables including manifests, land disposal restriction forms, bills of lading, and any other documents necessary for shipping.
• Maintains the TSR file system to include customer correspondence, waste profiles, and pricing as well as updating customer spreadsheets to maintain current profiles, costs, and all pricing on individual account basis.
• Identifies and tracks transportation, lab analysis and vendor costs by purchase orders to insure accuracy of billing invoices.
• Moves materials within the facility using appropriate equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, etc. Must be able to do some heavy lifting.

Job Requirements

Education/Experience:
• High School diploma or GED equivalent required
• Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry or related discipline preferred.
• 2 to 3 years in the hazardous waste industry preferred.

Certification/Licenses:
• OSHA HAZWOPER Certification
• Forklift Certification

Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
• Knowledge in environmental technologies.
• Knowledge of disposal site capabilities and limitations prior to shipping hazardous materials to ensure efficient disbursement and storage.
• Ability to work independently or with others as required.
• Excellent communication organizational and interpersonal skills required.
