Responsibilities:




Provide leadership, oversight, quality performance and work scheduling for customer service repair work and personnel. Responsible for reliable delivery of quality service to customers and will ensure that operations and maintenance standards. Project management, from developing estimates through proposal generation to full implementation, required.

Meet with Boston and Cambridge customers to identify and quantify service needs, help troubleshoot system issues, and sell service work. Supervise crew of Field Service Technicians, including delegation of work, labor reporting, and purchasing for repairs. Generate job scopes and pricing proposals for service work. Assist with identification of revenue streams and solutions to grow business



• Meet with Boston and Cambridge customers to identify and quantify service needs, help troubleshoot system issues, and sell service work.
• Supervise crew of Field Service Technicians, including delegation of work, labor reporting, and purchasing for repairs.
• Generate job scopes and pricing proposals for service work. Support implementation of customer assistance program through regular inspections and follow up reporting.
• Support billing variance analysis and seek to develop working knowledge of customer base.
• Must observe and comply with all standard safety codes and practices, and perform work in accordance with recognized trade and company standards and, where applicable, local, state, and federal laws.
• Must participate in mandatory training and other programs.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Job Requirements

Education and Training: Technical or trade school graduate with supervisory experience and business experience will be considered. Bachelor of science degree a plus. Project management, from developing estimates through proposal generation to full implementation, required.

Experience and Skills:
• 5 -10 years supervisory experience managing operations and maintenance in HVAC or utilities
• Ability to generate estimates and proposals from site visits. Experience with complex project management and proven track record of project implementation.
• Advanced understanding of the principles of steam, operation of steam equipment, valves, pumps, troubleshooting
• Advanced knowledge of HVAC systems, including controls
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, technical manuals and policies
• Valid driver's license and insurable by Company insurance carrier
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Microsoft Office
• Ability to work effectively in conjunction with a variety of people, departments, and clients.
• Ability to prioritize workload, be detail oriented in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment
• Commitment to customer service/satisfaction and workplace excellence. High degree of professionalism.
• Ability to remain flexible and problem-solve effectively.
• Requires excellent time management, organization and prioritization capability and excellent communication and organizational skills

TECHNOLOGY SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

Solid computer skills. Proficiency with database, spreadsheet, email, and word processing software required; Microsoft Office and Windows 95/97 preferred. Experience with specialized district heating software is desirable. Familiarity with internet search engines.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Advanced knowledge of building industry and HVAC industry troubleshooting and ability to perform calculations for HVAC.

Summary: Performance of the essential job functions requires the employee with this job title to have the capacity to work in the administrative areas and, on rare occasions, internally in the physical plant. Exposure to the extremes of heat, cold, and variable atmospheric conditions is dependent on seasonal changes and work requirements within the physical plant. The administrative areas are air conditioned/heated according to seasonal need.
