Job Description

We work with a wide range of clients to retrieve and dispose of their hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials. Whenever possible, we will recycle these materials. Materials which cannot be recycled will be disposed of properly to ensure a safe and healthy environment for future generations.

We bring in hazardous and non-hazardous waste in tankers, totes and drums of many sizes. We label, sample and analyze the material. We then will blend that material to a specification set by the disposal site and then ship the material to that disposal site. A typical day as a Technical Services Representative would include:

Job Title: Field Operations Supervisor
Notify immediate supervisor and transportation manager of any moving violations and/or accidents in-route to and/or from project site. Notify immediate supervisor of any spills, breaks, first aid, accidents, or near misses that happen while on a job site or while on duty.  Assists in the training of lower level field personnel . This position is responsible for the completion of  all mandatory training courses as required by OSHA as well as update refresher courses instituted by the company. Will operate and maintain all equipment in a professional manner to insure optimum efficiency and effectiveness to complete project(s) in a timely manner.

 • Computer proficient in windows, word, excel, and e-mail at a minimum • Ability to follow through on assignments
• Good knowledge and understanding of basic chemistry and hazards of chemicals
• Strong knowledge of 40 and 49 CFR and frequently used citations Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Supervise teams in the packing, labeling, manifesting and shipping hazardous waste from the customer(s) site to appropriate disposal facilities.
• Comply and enforce all compliance, health and safety, and PAD procedures in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
• Recognize and act on opportunities to increase value added services to customers. Maintain professional & courteous communications with internal and external customers on a daily basis.
• Good knowledge and understanding of contract terms and pricing to ensure the project is completed as proposed, or that a contract change order is implemented (if applicable) prior to leaving the job site. • Knowledge of disposal site capabilities and limitations prior to shipping waste materials to insure efficient disbursement and storage.
 • Ensure completion and accuracy of all DOT/EPA and VES-TS regulations and required in submitting paperwork to expedite disposal and hazardous waste materials pertaining to the transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
• Perform daily inspections of vehicle and/or trailer prior to driving to ensure safety and integrity of equipment.
• Ensure that DOT requirements such as vehicle weight limits, driver log books, vehicle inspection records, transportation permits, special permits, insurance cards, registration, fuel trip reports, IFTA fuel stickers, or other paperwork is up-to-date and valid.

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Requirements

•         High School diploma or GED equivalent required
•         Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry or related discipline preferred.
•         2 to 3 years in the hazardous waste industry preferred.

• Class A or B Commercial Drivers License (CDL)
• 40-hour HAZWOPER Training

• Environmental Specialist III Competency Test
