Job Description

Working in the North America Environmental Solutions and Services (ESS) business line representing approximately $600 million in revenue, the Finance Director will be responsible for providing financial support and guidance to the ESS East organization. More specifically, this position will be responsible for leading a team of 5 Controllers and their teams overseeing ~$300M in revenue. This will include management of the monthly closing, compilation of comprehensive monthly reporting package, presentation and communication of analysis and results to Senior Management, management of Paris reporting tool, audit coordination, support of Financial Planning & Analysis efforts (Budget, Forecast, Long Term Plan), coordination with the North American Shared Service Centers, and oversight of joint ventures and administration of the contractual terms. In addition to the management of the team, this position will require the ideal candidate to be “hands on” and detail oriented. The candidate must be proficient with both ERP systems (preferably SAP experience), and be an expert in Excel and data manipulation. 

Lead all financial reporting processes for the ESS East organization
Manage and develop the team of Controllers based in the East Branches
Coordinate financial activities with the Shared Service Centers and operations teams
Produce comprehensive monthly financial reporting packages, delivered to both internal and external investors and owners, detailing key ratios, statistics, price and volume variance analysis
Manage financial relationship and reporting requirements with joint venture partners (if any)
Facilitate discussions with Branches’ management regarding key areas of focus to optimize performance around budget and forecast targets. 
Ensure integrity and accuracy of financial data (P&L and balance sheet)
Consolidate and analyze data trends, using complex Excel skills
Manage the Paris financial reporting tool (Vector)
Work collaboratively with the IT organization to improve system reports
Monitor and police all changes to SAP ERP, being the lead expert on the system and analytical structure
Develop and communicate materials and results to Senior Management
Support ESS East Operations SVP’s in modeling new contracts, renewals, or proposed changes
Ensure compliance with all financial covenants
Oversee regulatory filings and lead periodic rate case proceedings
Manage relationships and work product with external auditors
Perform due diligence exercises for potential external bids
Integrate financial and accounting information of newly acquired businesses into existing processes and systems, including completion of purchase accounting
Develop, implement and track cost reduction and management programs. 
Perform impairment models and analysis, and support conclusions to external auditors
Develop and construct technical accounting memos to be presented to senior management
Support and help administer annual bonus plans 
Manage and communicate effectively teams in various locations

Job Requirements

Education / Experience / Background
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, a related field or equivalent work experience.
Advanced degree preferred
5-10 years progressive experience in a variety of finance functions with corporate financial management experience.
CPA preferred
Strong expertise in ERP and data manipulation via Excel
At least five years management experience required with demonstrated ability to develop effective financial reporting and analytical packages. 
Strong knowledge of reporting requirements, US GAAP and IFRS
Experience supporting senior level operational managers (CEO, COO, Regional Line Managers)

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
A high level of analytical and strategic ability is required.
Proficiency in the use consolidation tools (VECTOR, ERPs (PeopleSoft and SAP))
Superior use of Excel to consolidate, present and analyze financial information. 
Ability to manage many complex projects simultaneously and contribute productively in a team environment.
High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency.
Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and manage well at all levels of the company in English.
