SourceOne’s clients include large real estate developers & property managers, global data center providers, biotech firms, financial and educational institutions, municipalities, manufacturers and telecommunications companies. For these entities SourceOne provides energy related due diligence, power master planning, utility coordination, commissioning, and power/commodity analysis/purchasing support as well as infrastructure development services including central plant and combined heat and power plant design and installation.

SourceOne is actively seeking an energetic and self-motivated junior professional to join our west coast team as a Junior Commissioning & Energy Project Engineer reporting directly to the Engineering Manager of West Coast Operations based out of Los Angeles, California. The position would initially be for a 6 month probationary period, which based on the successful candidates performance over that 6 month period may lead to an offer of a full time position.

The successful candidate must be self-motivated, have a great work ethic, be hands-on, eager to travel extensively within the continental United States, and well versed in electro-mechanical engineering designs and reporting.

Job Requirements

Minimum of a completed Bachelor’s degree in a related Electrical Engineering field is a mandatory requirement.
EIT accreditation in progress is preferred but not mandatory.
Having effective written, verbal and presentation communication skills are highly recommended.
Candidate should demonstrate knowledge or experience in as many of the following categories as possible of;
•Industrial experience in a related engineering profession.
•Experience in diagnosing analytical data of an electrical nature.
•Solving construction and operational problems.
•Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) through the U.S Green Building Council.
•Certified Energy Manager (CEM).
•Knowledge of building codes and construction industry standards, such as NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE.
•Familiarity with building mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building automation and life safety systems.
•Experience with short circuit coordination studies using SKM or equivalent.
•Knowledge of energy modeling software tools such as Trane Trace, eQuest, IES, Sefaira, Energy Plus, Carrier HAP or other design and energy simulation softwares.
