Job Description

Summary: This position will be responsible for all Maintenance activities at this facility, will be required to work in/around confined space areas, high noise, in inclement weather, and must be able to climb several flights of stairs and work with heights. Daily, weekly and monthly reports must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays if needed.

*1st Shift schedule, full-time and non-exempt role annual bonus and full benefits 

Primary Functions:
  • Repair, troubleshoot and complete preventative maintenance tasks for pumps, motors, and water treatment plant equipment
  • Install and start up new equipment as needed
  • Maintain all issued tools; monitor and test equipment needed to perform maintenance and repair activities
  • Maintain detailed records of repair and maintenance tasks completed
  • Perform general grounds and building maintenance including painting and housekeeping
  • Establish and adhere to a system of undertaking proactive maintenance tasks
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Supervisor
  • Must have ability to safely operate motorized vehicles and construction-type equipment
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in the care and use of all site specific, facility required PPE (Personal Protection Equipment), including respirators, gas detectors, confined space equipment, etc.)

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must have minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance of water/wastewater or closely related field, preferred experience with MBR's and PLC's
  • Must have good understanding of electrical controls install and troubleshooting, industrial maintenance including motors, generators, blowers, pumps, gearboxes, valves, piping
  • Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education
  • Knowledge to install, diagnose, repair, and maintain machinery and equipment used in a water treatment plant; ability to acquire additional skills and knowledge to maintain technical competencies
  • Knowledge of hazards, safe work methods, and safety regulations pertaining to the essential functions of the job
  • Skill to perform inspections and diagnose mechanical problems; skill to use appropriate judgment pertaining to work methods and tools; ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Skill in the operation of test equipment and various hand and power tools
  • Skill in verbal and written communication and proper documentation of tasks completed
  • Skill to read and follow the procedures outlined in the operation and maintenance manuals for diagnosing various equipment problems
  • Valid Driver's License and clean driving record is required
