Job Description

What we do.
Veolia Phoenix, AZ processor for recycling of fluorescent lamps, ballast, batteries, computer electronics and mercury-bearing waste. The Phoenix facility is a RCRA permitted facility for mercury recovery activities and a USEPA permitted TSCA/ballast storer and processor. The facility serves industrial, commercial and government organizations across west regional of the United State.

Facility Maintenance
 
Scope & Responsibilities: 

Responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining a variety of machinery and equipment to include engines, motors, tools, parts (hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, etc.), plumbing, conveyor systems, etc. to ensure optimum performance of machines and associated equipment.

●        Troubleshoot existing problems by observing, listening, and feeling mechanical devices to determine possible causes for problem situations.
●        Dismantle a variety of machines and devices to gain access to and remove defective parts and reassemble and test for optimum performance.  
●        Repair and/or replace functional parts of control instruments and ability to interpret instructions and diagrams in correcting existing problems.    
●        Maintain appropriate records on completed work performed and forwards logs along with findings to immediate supervisor.
●        Set up and operate appropriate equipment in accordance to OSHA guidelines such as drill press, grinders, welding equipment, etc. to manufacture parts and repair existing structures/parts within the facility.
●        On an as needed basis, orders needed parts and machinery and keep adequate inventories to meet scheduled ongoing maintenance programs, create purchase orders in system, etc.
●        On an as-needed basis, perform welding and cutting.

Job Requirements

Required Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
•         Strong team player
•         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
•         Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines

Education/Experience:
●        High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required
●        Associate’s degree with emphasis in electrical/mechanical skills preferred

●        Minimum 3 (three) years of experience in  electrical and mechanical troubleshooting 

Certification/Licenses:
•         OSHA HAZWOPER training will be provided.
