Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
Under general direction of project manager, supervises and coordinates the work of staff responsible to ensure proper operations, preventive maintenance, repair programs and procedures.  Prepares work schedules, assigns work, and oversees the work. Supervisors are to have thorough knowledge of job tasks and expected to be able to perform the job tasks and responsibilities of individuals they supervise.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Perform work in a professional and safe manner compliant with policies and work practices.
  • Inspire a common vision and contribute to creating a safety culture; monitor and audit work practices to ensure safe work practices.  Stop unsafe behavior or activity; report the issue promptly as defined and work with appropriate individuals and team members for a resolution that is safe.
  • Report to work, on time, as scheduled; able and prepared to work.
  • Supervise day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals 
  • Communicate and collaborate with team members to maintain, improve and solve operational issues.
  • Effectively communicate information timely and appropriately to team members; follow up to ensure accurate understanding/expectations.
  • Demonstrate behavior that contributes to creating effective teams and positive work environments
  • Provide performance feedback to staff in a timely manner both positive and corrective.  Appropriately address behavior that is inappropriate.
  • Educate and train operators in their respect job tasks and responsibilities.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with managers and employees
  • Receive, document and appropriately respond to customer inquiries and complaints.  Notify appropriate Veolia managers as defined.
  • Maintain working knowledge of Veolia policies, work practices, regulations and customer requirements.
  • Compete and appropriately deliver required reports, paperwork, accurately and timely, review monitor paperwork of operators and ensure complete, accurate and timely; follow up as appropriate.
  •  Evaluate the urgency and importance of situations and take the appropriate action.
  • Develop, recommend, coordinate and conduct operations and maintenance training.
  • Control documents within the Utilities and Maintenance Departments and oversee the maintenance of department Quality System Records
  • Report the departments’ performance status and quality improvements to the project manager for inclusion in monthly Process Control Reports as defined.
  • Control the storage of parts, materials and equipment used in the maintenance functions.
  • Participate in the development of product specifications and in the evaluation and approval of suppliers.


Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver’s License and maintain throughout employment
  • Pass drug screens, physical and safety sensitive background check.
  • 3 years of experience in operator or related individual contributor position.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills; able to establish and maintain professional relationships
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Read, write and understand instructions/signs/directions in English.
  • Proficient using PC, and various word processing and spreadsheets software
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills; able to interact and professionally engage with all individuals. 
  • Demonstrate sound judgment, work independently, able to effectively prioritize work requests and complete tasks by deadline; time management.
  • Work effectively in dynamic and diverse team environments; exhibit professional behavior; contribute to creating a welcoming and positive work environment.
  • Ability to establish trust and integrity with employees, and customer. 


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Wear required personnel protective equipment including; gloves, respirators, safety glasses, foot protection and hard hat.
  • Lift, push, pull or carry up to 45 lbs; up to 100 lbs with assistance.
