Job Snapshot

Job Description

Material Handler - Sauget, IL
Veolia is a global environmental company operating in over 40 countries with 179,000 employees focused on delivering environmentally sustainable solutions. We work with a wide range of clients to retrieve and dispose of their hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials. Whenever possible, we will recycle these materials. Materials which cannot be recycled will be disposed of properly to ensure a safe and healthy environment for future generations.
We bring in hazardous and non-hazardous waste in tankers, totes and drums of many sizes. We label, sample and analyze the material. We then will blend that material to a specification set by the disposal site and then ship the material to that disposal site. A typical day as a material handler would include:
•  Pumping Drums: We pump drums to our tanks, using a diaphragm pump and hoses.
•  Bulking drums: We empty the contents of a drum into a hopper and then dump the hopper into a roll off.
•  The drums are loaded, offloaded and transported by forklift to and from all of our processes.
•  We sample and label the drums as they are offloaded.

We do all of this while adhering to our environmental, health and safety protocols.
There are many opportunities to grow with our company and we strongly support promotions from within.
