Job Description

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conducting laboratory analytical testing for product quality assurance/quality control, repair and maintain all plant equipment and plant areas.
  • Tends automatic and semi-automatic machines including related equipment including pumps, valves, mixers, and chemical feed.  
  • Monitors control panels, adjusts valves and gates. 
  • Monitors flow meters, gauges, flow ratios, pressures and related controls through instrument panels, computer terminals and programmable logic control units in assigned area. 
  • Monitors and records operating conditions observations and data in area shift log. 
  • Ensures conformance to process specifications. 
  • Diagnoses basic operational problems and takes corrective action per procedure.
  • Verifies and reports suspected malfunctions and variances to supervisor and takes corrective actions.  Performs routine and preventative maintenance and assigned related items.  
  • Performs housekeeping as required.
  • Operates vehicles for plant operational purposes.
  • Performs grab and go field tests in order to adjust process chemical dosages for process.
  • Performs routine lab tests.  



Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma/GED.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in the care and use of required PPE.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to operate assigned machines and equipment meeting or exceeding processing and quality targets under general supervision.
  • Must demonstrate ability to efficiently operate equipment such as pumps, valves, gates, mixers, chemical feed, odor control systems, recessed plate filter presses, and measuring/control devices, testing equipment and material handling equipment.
  • Must demonstrate ability to efficiently maintain, install and repair a variety of equipment including pumps, valves, gates, mixers, chemical feed, dust collector and odor control systems.
  • Must have the ability to diagnose process problems in multiple unit processes.
  • Minimal supervision required
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • General PC skills with knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access
  • Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily
  • Must be able to pass drug and criminal background screening
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule rotating schedule, 2 weeks days at one location, 2 weeks days’ second location, 2 weeks off shift, 8-12 hour shifts.
  • Successfully complete drug screen and pre-employment physical
  • Ability to wear a full and half face respirator
  • Ability to work in loud industrial environments
  • Ability to work in confined spaces or adverse conditions inside or outside.
  • Including: extreme cold, heat, rain or dry environments.
  • Holder of TWIC (Transportation Workers Identification Credential); or MUST obtain within 30 days of start date.
