Veolia Water Technologies Dayton is currently seeking an Product Development Engineer to work in the Dayton Ohio office.

This position is responsible for the new product development of assigned product lines and sustainment of those product lines. Also responsible for support in project execution involving respective product lines and any project related engineering changes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports the pre-design stage of new product development with design basis development and cost estimation.
  • Reviews and participates in development of Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
  • Reviews detail equipment designs as compared to P&IDs and other design documents
  • Reviews and understands equipment requirements (specifications, standards, etc.) in order to address them during the design process
  • Actively interacts with Veolia suppliers during design process
  • Consults and coordinates with the Production department to ensure best fabrication practices are taken into consideration during design process 
  • Creates and/or actively participates in the review process of 3D models of the equipment and the required fabrication drawings for the shop
  • Reviews bills of materials used to manufacture equipment or to purchase necessary items
  • Prepares shop release packages for assigned product lines
  • Leads the quality related efforts for assigned product lines
  • Coordinates the standard product development of assigned product lines
  • Leads the engineering change process and any subsequent upgrades or changes for assigned product lines
  • Supports project execution within the department
  • Aids in the interaction with internal and external customers as required 
  • Assists in providing technical and functional guidance to other employees
  • Support standard equipment by providing start-up, commissioning support, pilot studies, troubleshooting or any other on-site field work as required.
  • Assists in updating commercial and technical documents for product lines and projects


Job Requirements

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or other related field
  • Experience with membrane systems (RO, UF, EDI)
  • Must be proficient in the following programs:  MS Office, proficient with PRO-E/CREO mechanical design software (preferred). 
  • Minimum of 5-8 years of related work experience
