POSITION SUMMARY:
 
Responsible for supervising a team(s) of field employees in providing services to clients that result in the safe disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous materials.  Coordinates with subcontractors to ensure job specifications, timeline, regulatory guidelines and budget is met.  Provides guidance and training to all field service employees.  Works closely with the Sales Team and Operations Manager in preparing project estimates, proposals, and contract preparation.  Conducts job walks and attends necessary pre-bid meetings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide the following services to clients:
-        Decontamination of laboratory spaces (fume hoods, countertops, solvent lines and wastewater lines). 
-        Supervising the subcontractors with the demolition and deconstruction of manufacturing facilities.
-        Decommissioning of transformers
-        Tank Cleaning
-        Excavation and soil remediation
 
Maintain a professional image to clients by answering inquiries and suggesting solutions to existing and/or potential problems.
 
Complete knowledge and understanding of contract provisions and terms.
 
Recognize and act on opportunities to increase value added services that benefit customers.

Ensure completion and accuracy of all DOT/EPA and Veolia regulations required in submitting paperwork.
 
Comply with and enforce all compliance, health and safety, and procedures in accordance with departmental procedures.

Ensure completion of all mandatory training courses as required by OSHA as well as updated refresher courses instituted by the company.

Oversees the operation and maintenance of all equipment to ensure optimum efficiency and effectiveness.
 
Possess ability to follow through on projects to completion.
 
Ability to travel to local project sites within Northern California, and occasionally stay overnight at the project site. 

Manages team(s) including hiring, evaluating, and disciplinary actions.   

Complies with all applicable governmental regulations, and Veolia policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

Education/Experience:

BS in Chemistry or BA in related science discipline or equivalent work experience preferred:

-        5 to 7 years of hazardous waste experience required
-        1 to 2 years of supervisory experience preferred
 
Knowledge, Skills and Ability:

Knowledge of disposal capabilities and limitations prior to shipping waste materials to ensure efficient disbursement and storage.

Strong knowledge and understanding of basic chemistry and hazards of chemicals
Strong knowledge of 40 and 49 CFR and frequently used citations
Strong customer service orientation
Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines, simultaneous tasks, and multiple projects/people as necessary
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Strong supervisory and leadership skills

Ability to create & prepare written reports as necessary.  Computer proficient with Google G Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Calendar, and Drive.)
