We currently seek to add to our Sr. Corporate Counsel team:
 
This position will represent the legal function as part of a team responsible for Veolia’s Municipal group, which includes municipal water and wastewater operations, commercial energy plant development and management contracts and related M&A, joint venture and financing projects. Principal duties will encompass contract negotiations, due diligence, drafting of complex agreements and corporate compliance training and counseling.
 
You will be given a high level of responsibility and a high degree of freedom. You’ll be joining a highly-collaborative project development team that embraces best practices.
 
 

Job Requirements

Required Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
•         Juris Doctor Degree from a nationally recognized law school
•         Licensed to practice law and a state bar member in good standing
•         5 - 15 years’ experience practicing law with successful track record in both a major law firm and as in-house counsel
•         Outstanding written and verbal communication skills as well as a proven ability to negotiate and draft documentation for sophisticated commercial transactions, notably including complex service and outsourcing contracts, credit documentation, acquisition and joint venture agreements, and construction contracts
•         Adept at working with minimal supervision on multiple time-sensitive projects and dealing directly with business developers, senior management and finance, accounting and tax professionals
•         Excellent interpersonal skills, with an ability to interface with people at all levels by virtue of professional competence, personal integrity, and personal style
 
Preferred Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
•         Experience with water/wastewater and/or energy projects and related regulatory matters
•       Experience with public procurement processes
