The Veolia Azusa Field Services Center is located in Southern California in an industrialized area bordered by chemical manufacturing facilities, a flood control basin and park, and a brewery. It operates as a 10-day Transportation Facility with offices servicing Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside, Ventura, Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Kern Counties. Veolia Azusa maintains a fleet of commercial vehicles in addition to highly trained and qualified project managers, field technicians, and drivers to meet and exceed customer’s
expectations. Veolia offers the following services: transportation and disposal of hazardous/industrial waste, on site waste management programs, lab packing of lab chemicals, bulking wastes, household hazardous waste events, and
environmental/safety consulting.

      At Veolia, the Technical Service Representative is functioning in a technical support role to both the Customer and sales team by providing knowledgeable expertise in chemical grouping, a variety of disposal options, approvals, RCRA, DOT regulations and compliance.  A typical day will include the opportunity to provide guidance to field operations staff as well as administrative support to achieve client’s goals in determining most cost-effective methods in delivering quality services at a high level of satisfaction.

Description The candidate would be responsible for functioning in a technical role to both the customer and sales team by providing knowledgeable expertise in chemical grouping, a variety of disposal options, approvals, RCRA, DOT regulations and compliance. Provides guidance to field operations staff as well as administrative support to achieve client’s goals in determining the most cost-effective methods in delivering quality service at a high level of satisfaction. The primary focus of this position is to act as the single point of contact on a day-to-day basis for internal and external customers within a specified territory. All tasks to be performed will be according to the established company standard and in compliance with all company policies and procedures while maintaining regular and prompt attendance.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Creating and maintaining waste profiles with respect to customer preference, disposal technology, cost, and facility approval.
  • Assist in developing preliminary proposals and sales quotations.
  • Reviewing SDS’ and ensuring waste is profiled and classified
  • correctly.
  • Identifying and tracking transportation, lab analysis and vendor
  • costs by purchase orders to insure accuracy of billing invoices.

Job Requirements

Education/Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry or related discipline preferred.
  • 2 to 3 years in the hazardous waste industry required.


Certification/Licenses:
 OSHA HAZWOPER certification
Driver's License
Knowledge, Skills and Ability:
•         Knowledge in environmental technologies.
•         Knowledge of disposal site capabilities and limitations prior to shipping hazardous materials to ensure efficient disbursement and storage.
