Job Description


As a Material Handler for Veolia North America Henderson facility, you are responsible for performing a variety of routine tasks non-hazardous materials including dis-assembly, sorting, packing, re-packing, and loading and unloading.  You will operate equipment such as Fork Lift, Tuggers, Balers to include hook up of box carts to AGV (Automated Ground Vehicles)lamp processors, distillation ovens, shredders, pallet trucks, forklifts, bailers, compactors, air compressors and hand tools.

Knowledge Skills and Ability•         Skilled in the use of electronic equipment including bar coding scanners
•         Ability to communicate effectively
•         Ability to safely operate material handling equipment
•         Ability to work well in team environment

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•         Maintains a safe and compliant work environment at all times.  Works safely and wears appropriate PPE for task.
•         Complies with all environmental, health and safety policies and procedures. 
•         Loads and unloads various materials such as pallets, totes, drums, etc.
•         Constructs packaging/boxes/containers and prepares for shipment.  
•         Uses a variety of hand tools such as impact wrenches, drum carts, saws, torches, etc.
•         Moves material within the facility using appropriate equipment such as hand trucks, pallet trucks, forklifts, etc.
•         Maintenance duties as required including changing motors, gear boxes and mechanical trouble shooting. 
•         Dismantles/sorts materials for recycling/disposal.
•         Operates and performs routine maintenance/inspections on recycling equipment.
•         Prepares by-product materials for shipment, including the baling or containerization of material.
•         Assists in completing paperwork for processing/transportation of materials.

•         Performs general housekeeping duties and maintains a clean, organized and safe work area.

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•         Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education/Experience:
•   High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) preferred
•  Minimum 1 year experience working in a recycling environment


Certification/Licenses:
•   Driver’s License
